Routine appointments

Please telephone 01935 872530 to make your appointment. You can also book appointments online. Routine appointments can usually be booked up to one month ahead and you will be offered the first available appointment with the doctor of your choice or another doctor if this is not convenient. If you need a longer appointment than usual ie you need to speak about a multiple issues or you require an examination, please let the receptionist know so we can make provision for this. If you are unable to attend an appointment, please always let us know at the earliest opportunity so that we can offer the appointment to someone else.

Urgent appointments

If you feel you have a problem that needs medical attention that day and cannot wait for a routine appointment, you will be offered a Face to Face appointment with a doctor on the same day.

There is now the facility for patients to book appointments with a doctor via this website. This is protected by the highest security and cannot be accessed by others providing you keep your registration details secure.

To be able to access this facility you will need to have an individual access and ID code. Please contact reception who will be able to issue you with this. All new patients registering with us will automatically receive a logon and password.

Improved Access to General Practice

The CCG and general practices are working to improve access to appointments for our patients, in particular at evenings and weekends. If you would like to be offered one of these appointments, which may be at a different site, please ask Reception.

When the surgery is closed

If you are unwell in the evening, overnight or at the weekend contact NHS 111 by telephoning 1-1-1. This service is for urgent medical situations if you or a member of your family, becomes ill and you are concerned. It is not for routine enquiries, booking an appointment or ordering a repeat prescription.

When you ring the NHS 111, your call will be answered by the call centre at St Leonard’s Dorset. A trained member of staff will answer the telephone and take some details from you. They will pass these details straight to a doctor who will call you back to ask more about the problem. In conjunction with you they will decide the best option. Depending on the seriousness of the condition this may be:

  • Advice on the telephone
  • A visit to a local treatment centre
  • A home visit by a doctor, nurse or paramedic
