Coronavirus (COVID-19) Support in the Community – Help for the Vulnerable
There are various groups out in our community who are willing to help you with a variety of your social needs.
- Prescription collection/medication deliveries
- Shopping
- Dog walking / pet care
- Gardening / essential DIY
- Telephone befriending
If we believe that we have a vulnerable patient, we will make a referral to our Social Prescribing team who work with the Sherborne PCN Health Champions and the various voluntary organisations out there. However, we might not realise you are in need so please do contact any of the following direct to ask for assistance, advice and reassurance.

Voluntary Groups Specific to Our Area
Yetminster Support – contact yetvirushelp@gmail.com / 07563 883327 if you are vulnerable and have no friends, family or neighbours to support you, or if you are worried about someone in this situation. Volunteers will try and find someone in the community who can help.
Chetnole Support Group – Contact James on 07836 503377 for help with shopping, a friendly phone call, posting mail, urgent supplies or dog walking. James will relay your needs to a large group in your area.

Melbury Osmond Neighbourhood Watch + Covid 19 Support – Contact Anna on 01935 83745 for any assistance in the village and she will try to arrange for someone to contact you.
Sherborne Viral Kindness – 07784 115 987 https://www.facebook.com/sherborneviralkindness/ Covering Sherborne and the surrounding villages. They have 80+ volunteers doing all the above plus the following. Free meals sent out daily; community kitchen; free yoga and mindfulness online; DVD loan scheme; book delivery scheme; free optical repairs.
