RSV vaccine

From 1st September 2024, patients aged 75 to 79 and women at least 28 weeks pregnant, will be eligible for a free RSV vaccine to protect them from Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).

We will be holding a vaccine clinic at Yetminster Jubilee Hall on Tuesday 3rd September for patients aged 75-79. Patients will be sent a booking link via text, or can ring reception on 01935 872530 to book in.

RSV is a major respiratory virus that is common over the winter period. It can be dangerous for infants as it can cause bronchiolitis, as well as being dangerous for the elderly, causing pneumonia and flare-ups of existing lung conditions.

RSV may cause a cold, cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, tiredness and fever. Most cases are not serious and clear up within 2-3 weeks.
